... Il fait bon vivre en Provence ! ... Life is most enjoyable in Provence !

Que ce soient les visiteurs venus des quatre coins du globe qui la parcourent de ses calanques à ses plateaux colorés, ou les étrangers qui décident de s'y installer, tous s'accordent à dire qu'il fait bon vivre en Provence. 300 jours d'ensoleillement, des sites naturels remarquables, des villages au charme authentique, un terroir et une gastronomie extraordinaire en font un territoire béni des Dieux. Or, la vie au paradis peut aussi avoir ses typicités: au pays Pagnol on cultive l'art de «prendre son temps» si bien que l’on semble être sur un fuseau horaire bien différent de celui de la capitale. En résumé, oubliez les courses entre 13h et 16h dans un de ces charmants villages perchés du Luberon. En Provence, le bien-nommé pays des cigales, on aime à chanter tout l'été et la sieste reste (pour certains) une tradition à laquelle on n'échappe pas, que l'on soit un enfant du pays, d'adoption ou de passage !

However, life in Paradise can also have its typicities: in Pagnol’s country one cultivates the art of «taking one’s time» in what can be considered a complete different time zone from the capital’s. In short, forget about going for errands between 1 and 4 in one of those charming hill-top villages of the Luberon. In Provence, the well-named «country of the cicadas», one likes to sing all Summer long and the nap remains (for many) a tradition from which one does not escape, whether he is a local, an newly-settled villager or spending some time in the area.
